If you have been to Hjorring and taken part in the Dana Cup, you already know why Dana Cup is Denmark’s largest and the world’s most international soccer tournament for young teams. Hosted by Hjorring, a charming, idyllic town situated at the heart of vacation country and just a few miles from the famous beaches of the west coast and many other ourist attractions. Activities include Farup Sommerland (amusement park and water park), shopping, beaches, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, Dana Cup Disco, international golf tournament for adults, group leader meeting and local sightseeing in this quaint city.
Tournament format
· The teams are dealed into groups of 4 or possibly 5 teams. With each team meeting each other.
· The second round will operate on a knock out basis. The first and second ranked teams from the first rounds will play in the second round A, while the remaining teams will play in the second round B.
· Finals in the 7 a side classes will be played on Friday, as well as the A finals in classes B 13, G 19 and G 17. All other finals will be played on Saturday.
Tournament Facilities
Dana Cup uses more than 50 fantastic grassed soccer fields, so the tournament can be played at the highest level. Most of the fields are located around the Dana Cup center area, near the Vendiahallen. The other fields are only a short distance from the center area and can be reached by walking or using our fantastic Dana Cup bus system.
Age-dispensation
· In 11-aside, 3 players at a time born August 1-December 31st of the previous year can participate in any one game. In 7 v 7, only two players may participate in any one game. There are no other dispensations for age groups after the start of the tournament.
Matches, squads and substitutions
· B 19, B 17, B 16, B 15, G 19, G 17, G 16 and G 15 play 2 x 25 mins. (Opening rounds) and 2 x 30 mins. (Playoffs & finals).
· B 14, B 13, B 12, B 11, G 14 and G 13 play 2 x 20 mins. (Opening rounds) and 2 x 30 mins. (Playoffs & finals).
· Each team can maximum use 5 substitutes in the 11 a side classes. In the 7 a side classes - B 12, B 11 and G 13 - you can use as many substitutes as you wish.
