J-1 VISA & CRIMINAL BACKGROUND DOCUMENTS
All non-US citizens coaches will have to go through Eurotech® to obtain proper documentation to be placed in the United States based exchange program. Visa Processing can take a minimum of 8-12 weeks to process - it is imperative that staff apply as early as possible to ensure a smooth process. You must first submit a signed copy of your Eurotech® Staff Agreement and Eurotech® Membership Form to start this process. Upon approval, you will be issued the DS-2019 which must be brought to the U.S. Embassy in your country and presented during your Official Embassy Interview. Official Criminal background documents will also be obtained by Eurotech®. This process will be started right away - it can sometimes take Eurotech® up to 8 weeks to obtain these documents! Visa documents cannot be processed without this paperwork!
MEDICAL INSURANCE
You will be 100% responsible for any and all medical expenses incurred while under agreement with Eurotech®. Eurotech® provides a comprehensive medical insurance package and this will be provided to all foreign coaches who are chosen to be placed with Eurotech®.
ALCOHOL & DRUG POLICIES
This company policy is quite simple. Eurotech® strictly enforces a no drinking, smoking and drug policy during the week of camp. Any staff member who is under the assumption that drinking, smoking, and drug consumption will contribute to their ability to work with children will not be tolerated and will be terminated immediately. If this is the kind of environment that you are used, you’ve chosen the wrong company and still have time to reconsider your choice for summer placement! The Camp Curriculum and summer camp program contributes to long, fast paced days; if your health, heart or mind are not up to it, you will be terminated and your agreement will be forfeited immediately.
Camp
Locations
Program Locations & Logistics
Eurotech® currently operates summer camp programs in approximately 20 states throughout the U.S. Camp locations vary from those within close proximity to major cities and landmarks to more rural locations. Most coaches in a typical summer would visit a number of each. Each year coaches work in, or close to, famous American cities such as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Atlanta, Nashville and many others. In reality, many camps are located in smaller communities and may not be located near a big city. The location that a coach works depends upon a number of variables that include, number of camps within a region, camp profile and special requests, quantity of staff needed, transportation issues and staff qualifications. Some regions require more coaches than others during the certain busy weeks due to more camps in particular areas; therefore, unfortunately, Eurotech® cannot guarantee that every coach will get to work in a certain state or region.
Most Eurotech® staff work in coaching clusters throughout the summer. The coaching cluster is a group of 2-6 coaches that work and travel together to and from camps and usually stay in the same community. Each cluster is allocated a
Camp
Director who coaches and also serves as the leader of the group. Typically, the
Camp
Director is an experienced, mature member of the Eurotech® coaching staff who will also act as the contact point between the coaching cluster and the Eurotech® Corporate Office during the summer. The coaching cluster sometimes stays together for most of the summer and travels, often extensively, from state to state, although clusters do change from time to time due to logistics and staff needs. Great friendships are often made and memorable experiences shared!
