The Valtellina Cup is located in a well-known mountain and sports resort near the Italian Alps (Lombardy Region) and close to the border of Switzerland and famous destinations like Saint Moritz. This high quality, smaller tournament typically plays host to 45 teams registered from 8 different nations all over the world. The final games take place in Morgegno which is where the official tournament headquarters and the soccer stadium of Morgegno are located.
Morbegno, located at the entrance to Valtellina, 248 m. above sea level, is less than 100 Km. from the administrative centre of Lombardy and is at the centre of a territory which is full of natural beauties which are still intact. The town bears artistic witness to the past in a historical centre which has
preserved unmistakable features. In the immediate neighborhood of Morbegno, Costiera dei Cech is worth a visit: it is a natural oasis full of interesting historical evidence and where numerous species of animals live undisturbed.
Tournament format
· All categories will be divided into groups of 4 or 5 teams, will play a minimum of 3 games during the qualifications.
· At the end 8 teams from each category will go to the ¼ finals.
· The remaining 8 teams of each category will be included in a 2nd tournament and will qualify to B Finals.
Tournament Facilities
The Valtellina Cup will take place on the nice grass soccer grounds of Valtellina region whose territory is part of the Italian alps. In Morbegno will be located also the official tournament heaquarter and the soccer stadium of Morbegno where will take place the final games. Other quality soccer grounds will be available in the close towns of Sondrio, Colico, Caspoggio, Chiesa Valmalenco.
